Königswiesen - "Mühlviertel´s Flower Island"

A must for culture fans: Local heritage museum, Zündapp motorbike exhibition, 8 historical stones and rocks, summit cross (980 m above sea level) offering a great view of the entire region, Ruttenstein castle ruins (7 km).

Königswiesen´s most precious possession is the outstanding parish church dedicated to the Virgin´s Assumption. In its late-Gothic interior a wonderful ribbed vault (consisting of 480 pieces) can be found.

The town is famous for its unique flower decorations, the lovely burgher houses, a historical pillory (16th century) and a marvelous fountain in the center.
