Welcome to the Kernstock house (listed building)!
This building is to honor the Styrian priest and author of Austria´s first national anthem, Ottokar Kernstock.Built in 1605, the house was continuously occupied until the death of its last owner in 1907.
The Kernstock house bears a few rare architectural features, such as a hallway located to one side of the building (instead of a central location), and a kitchen with an open hearth.
The furniture on display dates to the 15th to 17th centuries.
Our small museum is to introduce the interested visitor to people´s everyday lives some 400 years ago. An opportunity not to be missed!
