Valentin Schuppich Quartet

Valentin Schuppich p has been one of the fixed stars of the Viennese jazz scene even before his famous debut "Sentimental Waltz". He usually presents straight-ahead jazz at the very finest level with his trio with Karol Hodas on bass and Dusan Novakov on drums.

With Roman Schwaller ts, the band has experienced an addition of the most exquisite kind. The quartet is sometimes reminiscent of the quartets of Cedar Walton and Clifford Jordan, but bears the unmistakable stamp of the individual soloists. Rarely played jazz standards and gems of the jazz literature appear in hip arrangements in which all band members come into their own creatively and as soloists.
