Klassische Klangwolke 25 presents Ludwig van Beethoven's 7th Symphony in the mirror of two special works: Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring emphasises aspects of dance and spirituality that are also present in Beethoven's symphony - Richard Wagner also described it as the ‘apotheosis of dance’. 

The Seventh - whose rousing rhythms Beethoven's pupil Carl Czerny already compared to ancient verse - has both archaic and modern echoes in common with the music of the Hungarian-American composer Miklós Rózsa. In his suite for the monumental film Ben Hur, he not only takes us back to the ‘Old Hollywood’ of the 1950s, but also immerses us in the Roman Empire at the beginning of the 1st century after the turn of the century. Ben Hur won eleven Oscars, one of which went to Rózsa for his film music. Klassische Klangwolke 25 also marks the start of the Beethoven cycle organised by the Brucknerhaus Linz and the Bruckner Orchestra Linz.
