Traunkirchen Christmas Market

Traunkirchen cordially invites you to the new Christmas market by and for Traunkirchen residents! On 13 and 14 December, the town will be transformed into a festive Christmas wonderland with regional delicacies, musical highlights and a festive atmosphere.

Christmas market opening hours Saturday: 2 pm to 8 pm Sunday: 2 pm to 6 pm

☕ Goldhaubencafé opening hours Saturday: 2 pm to 6 pm Sunday: 11 a.m.–6 p.m.

Culinary delights & music

Local clubs will be treating visitors to traditional delicacies and warming drinks. Musical highlights will be provided by the Kleine Partie der Ortsmusik Traunkirchen and the MUJU Band, who will fill the market with festive sounds. As in 2024, the popular Werkstattmusi band will also be there to create a Christmassy atmosphere.

Picture book cinema as part of the Traunkirchen Advent Market

The picture book cinema, which takes place on both market days, offers a special experience for children.

Dates: Saturday, 13 December: 4 p.m. | 5 p.m. | 6 p.m.

Sunday, 14 December: 3 p.m. | 4 p.m. | 5 p.m.

Nativity scene exhibition in the old Traunkirchen train station

On the third weekend of Advent, just in time for the Christmas market, the first major project of the “Kunstschiene Traunkirchen” (Traunkirchen Art Railway) will also begin. The exhibition “Nativity scenes from near and far” will open in the old waiting room of the station – a special experience for nativity scene enthusiasts of all ages.

In addition to traditional Vichtauer and box nativity scenes from the region and from private collections, special rarities such as a matchbox nativity scene and an icon nativity scene will also be on display. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all private collectors for their trust and for lending us these items. Until Candlemas, the large display window at the station will be festively illuminated and decorated with nativity scenes.

Opening hours of the nativity scene exhibition:

December 13–14 and December 20–21, 2–6 p.m. each day.

 Visits are also possible by telephone appointment until February 1, 2026. ✨
