Sunday music in the salon

Since 1999, the "Sunday Music in the Salon" series has offered a varied and harmonious program at a time convenient for the audience in the ballroom of the Francisco Carolinum.

Founded more than a quarter-century ago, “Sonntagsmusik im Salon” has established itself under the direction of its curator, Prof. Dr. h. c. Anton Voigt, as a high-caliber concert series that is consistently very well attended. It will now continue in the same spirit: the program will primarily feature chamber music, sometimes in standard ensembles such as string quartets or piano trios, sometimes in more unusual formations, and occasionally there will also be solo performances. The program draws from the wealth of time-honored chamber music treasures, while also featuring lesser-known works and contemporary compositions. Young ensembles are given a platform alongside those with a long-standing history.
