Alpacas originate from South America and their main area of distribution is in the high plateau of the Andes, the Altiplano.
Like their big brothers, the Old World camels, alpacas belong to the callosal family.
You can find out what else there is to know about alpacas on our guided tours of the enclosure on the dates indicated!
