The managed alpine hut "Bergerbauern Reith" is located at around 1,000m above sea level, in the middle of nature on the edge of the Kalkalpen National Park and offers a unique panoramic view of the mountains of the Pyhrn-Priel region.

The alpine hut was first mentioned in a document in 1760 and has met contemporary requirements thanks to extensive renovations and renovations. Tradition is also lived in the furnishings (alpine parlor, brick wood stove with tiles, stone pine parlor, as well as newly furnished rooms, some with stone pine beds).

Many local animal species, such as bees, goats, sheep, cats, cattle, pigs, horses and our dog (baron) enrich our alpine life. Our Alm is particularly popular as a popular excursion destination, where the hearty prepared dishes (various snacks, Kaiserschmarrn, farmer's donuts, Alpine sailing and the like) delight the guests.

The location of the Alm offers an ideal starting point for numerous hikes in the Kalkalpen National Park, the Almenland Hengstpass and of course the summit climbers in the Pyhrn-Priel region are not neglected.

From the Roßleithen motorway exit, take the B138 towards Windischgarsten. Take the third entrance to Windischgarsten and follow the signs to Rosenau am Hengstpass. A few kilometers after the end of Windischgarsten the signpost leads left to the Wurbauerkogel. At this junction, the Bergerbauern Reith is already signposted. Now follow the road for 5 kilometers to the parking lot. From here you have to hike.

As a family business, we try to offer an authentic and traditional atmosphere on our alpine pasture. It is very important to us to pamper you as guests with our own and regional products and to underline the appreciation of your visit. On weekdays (closed on Mondays) Vroni and I (Norbert sen) will greet you and serve you, on weekends and Sundays and public holidays Christina, Eva-Maria and Norbert junior support us alternately.
