You can find the guesthouse Donautal in the small village of Kasten, nestled between Engelhartszell and Passau on the right bank of the Danube.
Ideal as a starting point for cycling tours along the Danube Cycle Path or for hikes on the Danube Trail.
We are open from the first of March on.
From then we are looking forward to be your host in the Danube valley and welcome you to our beautiful home.
The lower altitude (295m) of Kasten does not offer so much snow. However, around the village Stadl you can find the cross-country paradise in the “Sauwald” (12 km) and the ski area “Hochficht” (50 km).

Besides my work with the guests, my hobbies are HIKING and MAKING MUSIC. I also spend a lot of time in the garden, which always needs to be maintained.
Upon retiring, I fulfilled my long-standing wish to learn a musical instrument. Whenever my limited free time allows, I play the hammered dulcimer, often alone, but also in an ensemble with four zithers.
