The Waldgasthaus Hochburg/Ach - Naturfreundehaus has been under new management since September 2018.
Jochen Kuntz - known to many from the Brennstüberl Geistreich in Burghausen - has leased it and, together with his team, looks after the well-being of guests, who are spoilt with food and drink.
The light-flooded sun terrace offers a spectacular view of the historic centre of Burghausen, the Salzach river and the world's longest castle.

In cooler temperatures, guests can sit in the newly renovated dining rooms of the restaurant. Here, too, there is a cosy atmosphere in which guests can choose between dishes from traditional Austrian cuisine, vegetarian dishes and seasonally changing offers from the weekly menu. Here, imaginative creations make the heart of the culinary connoisseur beat faster.
The quiet location invites you to go hiking. You can combine your visit to Burghausen with a walk to the Waldgasthaus.
If you prefer something more sporty, you can explore the Naturfreunde Hochburg/Ach mountain bike trail by bike. We have a charging station for visitors who want to come by e-bike.
