Haus Maria Holzöster

We have been welcoming guests to our small bed and breakfast since the 1970s. The nicely furnished rooms are all equipped with light-coloured solid wood furniture, the beds have a lying height of 58cm. All double rooms have shower/WC/Sat-TV and a wide balcony. WLAN is in the house. Cosy seating on the terrace invites you to linger.

Although we are not a designated non-smoking house, we ask our guests to smoke at least only on the balcony or terrace.

Franking - Holzöster am See is the right place for anyone looking for peace and relaxation, who wants to enjoy the beauty of nature and appreciates a wide range of leisure activities.
The 10.4 km² small community with just under 1000 inhabitants (divided into 9 villages) is a jewel in the landscape and lies on the northern edge of the Ibmer Moor and the Weidmoos bird paradise.

Since the early 1950s, emphasis has been placed on a tranquil, peaceful form of tourism and is therefore very much back in vogue.
During a cosy chat, we are happy to help with questions about leisure activities, excursions, cultural offers,... and often have a very special tip for you.


Holzöster am See is an ideal starting point for cycle tours on traffic-calmed side roads or hikes on well-marked paths through meadows and forests.

Hiking and golf are combined in our hiking farm golf course. Equipped with a club, wooden ball and hiking map, you play your way through nature. Along the hiking trails, a kind of oversized mini-golf course has been constructed from old farming equipment.

Here you can enjoy nature with all your senses. Take in the green meadows, smell the fresh air and hear the silence.
