Eberstalzell
Eberstalzell, Oberösterreich, Österreich

A hearty welcome to Eberstalzell!
The first historical writings are dating back to the 8th century when Slavic people settled in the Eberstal valley. In the late 10th century a wooden church was erected and consecrated to Saint Ulrich. The church was guarded by a group of monks who formed a so-called "cell" which gave the name to the town.
Eberstalzell is embedded in a truly unique landscape characterized by the ice ages. In the past the glaciers left a thick layer of sediments eroded by an infinite number of small rivers. The remains of this period are extremely fertile grounds and high plateaus featuring a wide range of fields and meadows. Even today the entire region focuses on agriculture and farming industry.
All those in need of rest and relaxation are warmly welcomed to Eberstalzell! A wide range of sports, activities or cultural highlights and events await you.
