St. Veit im Mühlkreis

The lively center of St. Veit im Mühlkreis is a typical Upper Austrian town in a rural setting.

St. Veit has a long tradition in farming and forestry, trade and industry. Numerous small and medium sized businesses provide the entire region with everyday goods and services. Additionally, the lovely town is a true oasis for those in need of rest and relaxation. Unspoilt landscapes, crystal clear waters and an infinite number of nature treasures can be discovered!

Hans Schnopfhagen, composer of the region's hymn (called "Hoamatlandl"), worked from 1872 until his death in 1908 as a school master in St. Veit. And Heinrich Suso Waldeck, a priest and lyric poet born in Pilsen, spend the last years of his long life in St. Veit (until he died in 1943). Both are buried at the local graveyard.
