Description of the village
The village of Weitersfelden is located above the confluence of the White and Black Aist rivers, in the north of the Lower Mühlviertel in the peripheral rural area, in the Mühlviertler Alm region, at an altitude of 733 metres above sea level. The market town of Weitersfelden is surrounded by 15 villages with an agricultural structure. The market town of Weitersfelden belongs to the political district and judicial district of Freistadt. The municipal area of Weitersfelden is 43.68 km² in size with approx. 70% of the total area covered by forest. The late Gothic parish church of Weitersfelden is dedicated to St Ulrich.
