Our organic farm is located in the wonderful Mühlviertel, where the hills meet the Danube plain. This typical Mühlviertel four-sided farm was built in 1835 by the then owners Anna & Martin Mascherbauer on the hill of Schwertberg, in the "Meran of the Mühlviertel". Since 2005 we - the Holzweber family - have been managing the Mascherbauerhof in Winden according to the guidelines of organic farming.

We are part of the Bio.Genuss Mühlviertel-Danube project, which links organic businesses even more closely with restaurants and accommodation providers - for tangible enjoyment and genuine origin.

Organic farming is the most sustainable and environmentally friendly form of farming. Our holistic approach, diverse structure and respect for natural resources are the prerequisites for successful organic production.

Consumer confidence in organic products is a particular concern of ours. All organic producers, from farmers to restaurants, are inspected at least once a year by an independent, state-authorized body.

The green EU organic logo with the white stars must be visible on all packaged organic products in Austria and throughout the EU.

The organic control number and the indication of the country of origin can also be found in the same field of vision. If Austrian agriculture is indicated as the country of origin, 98% of all ingredients must come from Austria.
