Altes Holzhaus Ensemble

Lengau, Oberösterreich, Österreich

The old wooden house ensemble in Lengau is an outstanding example of local craftsmanship and carpentry from the late 16th and early 17th centuries. In June 2007, it was awarded the plaque "Lasting Values for the Innviertel" by the Innviertel Cultural Circle.

This ensemble consists of several historic wooden houses that reflect the traditional architecture of the region. Some of these buildings have been preserved to this day and bear witness to the craftsmanship of times gone by.

One particularly remarkable example is the village of Wimpassing, a district of Lengau, which is known for its wooden farmhouses that are around 300 years old. Two of these houses have been preserved and are now used for various purposes, including the keeping of Shagy Arabian horses and the installation of photovoltaic systems.

These historic buildings are not only architecturally interesting, but also an important part of the cultural heritage of the Lengau region. They offer an insight into the construction methods and life of past centuries and are a valuable testimony to the history of the Innviertel region.
