MOUNTAIN BIKING CLOSE TO NATURE ON THE ROADLBERG

Hand-built single trails, particularly nature-friendly, rooted in the region and implemented collectively.
As the first official Mühlviertel trail center, the Roadlberg trails in Ottenschlag im Mühlkreis and Alberndorf in der Riedmark were officially opened and approved on 11 June 2023. The trails lead around the observation tower through the impressive mixed forests of the popular excursion mountain.

The Roadlberg trails are operated by UpperTrails
Commercial offers are generally not permitted under the Forestry Act; a usage request must therefore be submitted to UpperTrails.

In addition to designated mountain bike trails of varying difficulty levels, the Roadlberg Trails feature the Radl-Schui practice area, which offers several themed courses of varying difficulty designed to help riders learn and improve proper cycling technique. The mountain bike trails are open to the public free of charge. Since June 2023, the Popaflo Bikeshop —a specialty bike shop featuring a repair shop and (e-bike) rentals—has been located right next to the trails.

As with all UpperTrails projects , particular emphasis was placed on nature-friendly construction in the Roadlberg Landscape Conservation Area, set amidst the gentle hills of the Mühlviertel region. The narrow forest trails were built entirely by hand over hundreds of hours of work, without the use of any external materials. The Roadlberg trails may be used year-round and free of charge by private individuals and local clubs, provided they adhere to the rules of fair play.
