Pfarrkirche Heiliger Geist Attnang

Attnang-Puchheim, Oberösterreich, Österreich

Welcome to the parish church Heiliger Geist Attnang!

Due to the strong growth of the village and the relocation of the centre around the railway station, the construction of a larger parish church became necessary, which began in 1935 and was erected as a modern church building by joining cubic structures.
It was not until 1951 that Prelate Leopold Hager, the provost of St Florian's Abbey, was able to consecrate the church, which was finally completed. The majority of the interior furnishings, in a modern form but from a single mould, come from the Klothilde Rauch sculpture workshop in Altmünster.
The centrepiece above the high altar is a crucifix by sculptor Franz Forster from St. Florian. The stained glass windows, which match the style of the interior design, were made by the Viennese company Greyling and are based on designs by Viennese painter Lucia Jirgal.
The large and beautiful nativity scene is the work of F. Binder (figures) and N. Stüger (landscape) from Steinkogl near Ebensee.
