Welser Arkadenhöfe

Wels, Oberösterreich, Österreich
  • Suitable for groups

The majority of Wels' old town houses have quite remarkable arcaded courtyards.

One particularly outstanding arcaded courtyard, which represents a successful symbiosis of tradition and modernity, is located behind the entrance to the Schaufensterpassage or can be reached from Schmidtgasse. The Ins'Haas restaurant is also located there.
There are also other impressive arcade courtyards. These are located in the houses at Schmidtgasse 25, where you can find the Wiener Fererhofer, Stadtplatz 18 with the Trachten Feichtinger, Stadtplatz 52 and finally Stadtplatz 62, where you can admire the Kremsmünstererhof.
A special feature that makes the arcaded courtyards of Wels' old town even more enchanting is their Italian flair. This unique combination of tradition and modernity, coupled with the charming ambience of the arcades, gives them a very special flavour.
