The Almtal Association promotes tourism, economic, and rural development in the Almtal region

“VERA” is the official name of the “Almtal Association,” which was founded by the municipalities of Grünau im Almtal, Scharnstein, Pettenbach, Vorchdorf, and Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting, as well as St. Konrad and Steinbach am Ziehberg, to carry out joint projects and initiatives.

Together, those in charge, along with the municipalities, the Traunsee-Almtal Tourism Association, and other partners, have launched and continue to launch forward-looking projects.

One of the first tasks was to establish the joint Almtal Tourism Association, which was completed in 2013; under the new tourism law, the Almtal, Laakirchen, and Traunsee tourism associations merged in 2019 and continued as TVB Traunsee-Almtal.

Another milestone was the implementation of the Leader project “Genuss am Almfluss” (Pleasure Along the Alm River), which revitalized the beautiful Almuferweg trail from Almspitz to Almsee and turned it into a very popular hiking destination—its unique feature being its accessibility throughout via public transportation.

In addition to hiking, cycling and mobility in general are also important topics. The organization has also participated in projects such as the Almtal 2025 tourism concept and other initiatives in the region.

Currently, these include projects addressing vacant properties in Grünau, Scharnstein, St. Konrad, and elsewhere.

And we hope that many more successful projects will follow!
