According to oral tradition, secret church services were held at the Bannholz cross in the village of Oberhub during the Peasants' War. The parish chronicles reveal that during the Peasants' War, the Kehrer family and their child Apollonia secretly crossed the Danube at night from the nearby Rabmerhaus to Kirchberg for baptism, as Catholic baptism was not possible in Haibach.
