On the way from Oberwang to Mondsee is a chapel in the forest on the back of the Mondseeberg. The chapel is 994 meters above the sea Level.
The subject Image indicates the year 1868, what probably means that the chapel was renovated in this year.
In 1970 the chapel was damaged by heavy snow and downfalling branches. The chapel had to be renovated.
The heritage association financed the reconstruction. In 1971 the old walls were removed and new ones were built in the same size. For the Roof slites out of spruce were used. Later they got replaced with slites out of larches.
The Tower of the chapel is from the 90is. In 1993 the idea was raised to build a clocktower on the chapel. Karl Hauberger and August Meindl built the Tower and it got dedicated on the13th of may in 1994 from chaplain Mag. Greinegger. The Radstatt chapel is the aim for lots of hikers.
The Devotion takes place on the friday after Ascension day from the Seegruber chapel to the Radstatt chapel. Traditionally the People pilgrimage along the crossroad to the Radstatt chapel. On Christmas eve a prayer takes place.
The Family Breitenthaler takes care of the chapel, until 2005 Josefa Prem, then Maria Grabner and now Sabine Grabner.
In the summer of 2017 a Group worked on the outside of the chapel. At first the slates than the painting on the outside as well as in the inside of the chapel and he figures were cleaned. The beautiful chapel delights lots of hikers.
