Hinterebnater shrine
Tiefgraben am Mondsee, Oberösterreich, Österreich
Matthias Widlroither, father-in-law of the old farmer Anna Rauchenschwandtner, was asked in 1970 by Mrs. Kapfer to make a shrine for her estate.
His wife asked him to make one for the Hinterebnat estate. Anna Rauchschwandtner remembers that it was ice cold and she needed mittens when she fastened the May wreath on May 1, 1970. Since then, the shrine has belonged to the house and is respected and maintained by the family. The tradition is also important for the current farmer Michael and Elfriede Rauchenwandner. Some hikers passing the Tannenweg stop here for a moment.
The small chapel on the left in the shrine comes from Mrs. Raucherwandner's home in Grossenschwandt. In 1958 she married the back officer and moved here. Large fields belonged to the estate and many years own bread was baked. She candidly reports that whenever she went to the field, she always did the field prayer. That in the 45 years she was a farmer's wife at the farm, there was never hailstorm, she faithfully leads back to the power of prayer and thanks God for it.
