The scythe was in the ditch at the cellar. It was first mentioned in 1538. This year he bought abbot Stephan Rudenberger, mainly for the monastery. The Sensenhammer was converted into a nail-forge in 1656 and at the beginning of the 18th century. The scythes were given again by a state-electoral decision.
The iron came from Vordernberg in Styria. There were 24,000 scythes per year on 4 machines, and 21 workers found their merit. The coal was supplied by Mondseer farmers, who operated coalmines.
The Mondsee scout forging their goods with the "snake brand". Mondse scythes had a good reputation. They found special sales in Switzerland and France and were even delivered to the Orient.
