New impetus came in 1928, when the Singgemeinschaft was transformed into a mixed choir. The repertoire included the usual choral literature of the time. Later, the focus was placed on folk songs. Today, the Volksliedchor Bad Ischl is an important cultural institution in the Salzkammergut and beyond as an interpreter of Alpine folk songs.Hans Gielge, a well-known folk song composer from Bad Aussee, composed the song "Mein Ischlerland" for the 50th anniversary of the Ischl singing community, which was first performed at the centenary concert in 2005. On the occasion of a celebratory concert in 1982, the composer Sepp Karl wrote the now famous farewell song "A ganze Weil" for the choir, with whom he had a friendly relationship.
