Bulgariplatz
Linz, Oberösterreich, Österreich
Memorial for Anton Bulgari, who was legally executed in the wake of the February fighting in 1934.
After the outbreak of civil war on February 12, 1934, the Republican Schutzbund erected barricades on Polygonplatz (since 1946 Bulgariplatz) to prevent armed forces and home guard units from entering the city. Anton Bulgari was involved in an armed conflict, the course of which has not yet been clarified and which left three people dead. After the fighting ended, Bulgari and other insurgents were tried by a court martial. However, the death sentence was only carried out on Bulgari.
