Rastplatz Ölkam
St. Florian, Oberösterreich, Österreich

Rest area Ölkam near St. Florian
Meadow orchards are a particularly valuable habitat in the midst of an agricultural economy. They take their name from the often irregularly scattered fruit trees. These meadows are the traditional form of fruit tree stands and are mainly home to cider fruit trees (apple, pear), but also edible fruit and nut trees. Trees of different varieties and ages come together here and in turn provide a habitat for other creatures. Small creatures, insects, bird species and mammals feel at home here. The orchards not only provide healthy fruit and tasty cider for humans, but also characterise and beautify the landscape.
"A sad find" was made in Ölkam in 1996: the Danube legend tells the story of the Minchen.
