It is considered the largest and most important late Gothic building in the Upper Mühlviertel. The church is situated on the steep slope to the Stone Mill. The patron saint of the church is St. Nicholas - also the patron saint of merchants and weavers. It was built in two stages: a simple chancel around 1350-1450; a wide, single-nave nave with interesting ribbed vaults around 1450-1500. Late Gothic portals, a former Baroque high altarpiece from 1696, other furnishings are Neo-Gothic. The free-standing church tower, an old fortress tower with its massive walls (wall thickness up to two metres) had a closed battlements until 1906, today it has an open gallery. In former times, the tower was called Bürgerschaftsturm, it did not belong to the church. On a walk around Haslach, you can see parts of the ring wall and the round towers.
Visits to the church are possible at any time during the day! Further information: 07289/72300.
