Union Reitclub St. Georg Wels-Thalheim
Wels, Oberösterreich, Österreich

The riding school in a historic setting in the Alpenjägerkaserne barracks in Wels.
The Union Reitclub St.Georg Wels-Thalheim was founded on 11 October 1967. In December of the same year, the first stables were rented from the Upper Austrian Chamber of Agriculture in 4600 Wels, Dragonerstrasse 44, in the Alpenjägerkaserne. In March 1968, the association gained access to the riding hall, which had served as a home for the Lipizzaners of the Spanish Riding School after the war.Subsequently, the association expanded very quickly and, in addition to the centre in the Alpenjägerkaserne, further "outposts" were created by the members.
While special attention is paid to the equestrian training of young riders and vaulters at the Alpenjägerkaserne in Wels, the individual riding facilities at the "outposts" have developed into popular training centres for the disciplines of dressage, show jumping and eventing.
Vaulting is also very popular in our club and is not only a thrill for spectators when our vaulters perform on the galloping horse on the "third floor".
