Wallfahrtsbasilika Maria Puchheim
Attnang-Puchheim, Oberösterreich, Österreich

- Suitable for groups
The pilgrimage church in Puchheim, built between 1886 and 1890, was elevated to the status of a minor basilica by Pope Pius XII in 1951.
Around 750 years ago, there was already a castle church in Puchheim dedicated to St George. This church was certainly smaller than today's St George's Church. After the miraculous image of the "Mother of Perpetual Help" was placed on the side altar of St George's Church in 1870, the church was bursting at the seams. This miraculous image became a landmark of Puchheim. On 21 June 1874, the first solemn procession with the miraculous image was held.
The new pilgrimage church was largely built in the Renaissance style. The church looks exactly the same to this day.
