Jakobsbrunnen Fountain

Grünau im Almtal, Oberösterreich, Österreich

A place of happiness and a place of life energy.

A descendant of the Rechberg family, who had their ancestral castle in Ried near Kremsmünster, once killed his older brother behind the high altar of the church in Ried, regardless of the sanctity of the room. He then fled to Grünau, where he lived as a hermit by the Jacob fountain. The relatives tracked him down, however, and he was tortured and finally wheeled.
