Housed on the first floor of Pragstein Castle, the museum invites visitors to take a tour through five clearly organized thematic rooms that offer a historical glimpse into the work of pharmacists.
The foundation of the museum is the collection on the history of pharmacy belonging to the Aichberger family of pharmacists.

The first room is dedicated to the history of pharmacy, illustrated through a wide variety of documents. Among the exhibits is an almost completely preserved collection of Austrian pharmacopoeias dating from the late 18th to the early 20th century.
Three additional rooms showcase the pharmacy as a workplace: In the laboratory, well into the 19th century, pharmacists themselves manufactured the majority of the medicines and tested them for identity and purity. The equipment used for distillation, melting, drying, and cooling takes center stage: microscopes, analytical balances, and various measuring instruments. The corresponding recipes for preparation were recorded in the pharmacopoeias on display.
