Pfarrkirche Bachmanning
Bachmanning, Oberösterreich, Österreich

Situated on a hill in the centre of the village, the parish church dating back to the 12th century occupies a dominant position.
The first beginning of a church settlement is seen around the year 992, when a "capella ad Pahmanon" is mentioned. Around 1203, an "ecclesia sancti Laurentii in Pachmannen" is already mentioned.Today's late Gothic church, dedicated to St Erasmus, is a very interesting church building. In 1489, the choir was connected to the former defence tower by the construction of the nave. Worth mentioning are the frescoes from the late Middle Ages on the north side of the chancel, which were discovered during a renovation in 1959. In 2001, the church was restored and fitted with a new organ.
