Experts estimate that the first Gothic church was built around 1330.
Today's choir with its steep ribbed vault (currently the baptistery) and part of the nave up to the organ loft are remnants of this much smaller church. In the last third of the 15th century, the church was remodelled and enlarged, and the massive tower with its wedge-shaped roof was added.
The windows by Margret Bilger, which were installed in 1963, are a particular gem. The simplicity of the church provides a worthy setting for them.
