Most & Local Heritage Museum

St. Marienkirchen an der Polsenz, Oberösterreich, Österreich
  • All weather
  • Suitable for groups

Built in 1700, the building originally served as a granary to the parsonage. This ancient and refurbished granary today houses an interesting museum where visitors are provided with insights into the history and culture of the local Most (must) tradition. Most is a pressed and fermented juice made of apples and pears, especially common in many parts of Upper Austria and is a typical drink of this region.

The collection includes old farming machinery and a variety of remarkable tools from the fields of fruit wine making, schnapps distilling, and a lot more.

If you wish to join a guided tour of the museum please contact Mr. Johann Kaltenberger, Bergmannsiedlung 21, A-4076 St. Marienkirchen, phone +43(0)7249/47268.

Visitors are welcome at any time!
