Garstner Advent

Every year during Advent, the traditional "Garsten Advent Market" takes place next to the collegiate church in Garsten.

The Advent market is held in Garsten on the 1st and 2nd weekends of Advent and on 8 December from 09:00 to 18:00. The location of this market is right next to the baroque collegiate church "Am Platzl", which gives it a particularly picturesque character.

Christmas-decorated stalls present goods that are just right for the pre-Christmas period. Care is taken to ensure that no kitsch or cheap bric-a-brac is on offer.

In the midst of the commercial Christmas hype, this market aims to show that it is still possible to have a lovely old-fashioned Christmas. It has been held annually since 1977.
