The place of birth for the renown "Schartner Bombe" Lemonade.
Prior to World War I a spring was discovered in the hamlet of Leppersdorf, that first appeared in historical documents as "Leupolczstorf" in the year 1374. The spring water emerged at the temperature of 21 Degree Celsius and was used for health treatments in a tiny spa complex. In 1956 a Bad Hall-based company purchased the spring and began with the production of a refreshing soft drink named "Schartner Bombe" for the hand grenade-like form of the first bottle.
The area´s location especially favors fruit growing. Most popular are different kinds of cherries, plums, cider apples and perry pears.
