Verkehrte Welt - Fresken aus dem 15. Jh. in Ostermiething

- All weather
- Suitable for groups
Long before Columbus sailed to America, the priest of Ostermiething had his living room painted. Many things seemed to be going wrong in his eyes at the time - and so the unique frescoes of the "upside-down world" were created in the former vicarage. Fish living in trees and birds in the water - the late Gothic dry frescoes in the old vicarage of the parish of Ostermiething truly depict the "upside-down world"! The beautiful frescoes from the 15th century were discovered in 1941. They are located in a rectangular, 6.2 metre long barrel vault. When you enter the fresco room, you are immersed in another world and when you close the door, you are transported back to the Middle Ages.
