The house was founded and built as a shooting range by Wilhelm Löwenfeld (honorary citizen of Kleinmünchen) in the period from 1876-1902. It has been run by landlord Andreas Skramlik since 2019.  

The "Gasthaus Löwenfeld" - named after its founder - has been an insider tip for Linz's gourmets for years and is known for its home-style cooking.
