Paul Wieder is the new host and now offers his guests a second place to feel at home on Lake Traunsee!
He has been known for the last few years from his restaurant S' PAUL in Traunkirchen.
With passion for our guests
My aim is to offer our guests a wonderful, unforgettable stay and to take them on a culinary journey for the duration of their stay. ‘Good food is the best way to make several people happy at the same time.’

We attach great importance to freshness and quality, as well as seasonality and regionality. Our passion for the region is reflected in our favoured partnerships with local suppliers. We are aware of the great tradition of the house: In the newly designed Figl-Stüberl we remember the special connection of Austria's first Federal Chancellor after 1945 with Altmünster.

How to get to the Stube im Maximilianhof by Paul Wieder in Altmünster am Traunsee in the Traunsee-Almtal region:
We recommend travelling by public transport!
By train: via Attnang-Puchheim railway station to Altmünser railway station. The station is approx. 10 minutes' walk away (approx. 650 metres). Numerous connections from Attnang-Puchheim station to the main trains on the Westbahn line (line 101) or to the Salzkammergutbahn in the direction of Bad Ischl, Hallstatt and Bad Aussee.
by bus: OÖVV bus lines 507 and 522, bus stop Altmünster/Traunsee Maria-Theresien-Straße, line 505 bus stop Altmünster/Traunsee Maximilianstraße. Both stops in the immediate vicinity of the restaurant
by bike: The Stube im Maximilianhof by Paul Wieder is also very easy to reach by bike. The Salzkammergut cycle path R2 leads past in the immediate vicinity.
by car: Motorway A1: Vienna - Voralpenkreuz-A1 or from Salzburg - exit A1 Regau - b145 in the direction of Gmunden, continue to Altmünster, after the castle park Ebenzweier turn right into Ebenzweierstraße, then left towards the railway station, the restaurant is just around the bend.
From Bad Ischl on the B145 to Altmünster, turn left into Ebenzweierstraße, then left towards the railway station, the restaurant is just around the bend.
Parking nearby: There are rather few parking spaces at the restaurant, about 200 metres away, numerous parking spaces after Ebenzweier Castle.
