We deal with different dyeing, dipping and reserving processes that have a long tradition in many cultures. Fabrics or papers are treated by pinching, stitching or knotting in such a way that no dye penetrates in some places when they are placed in a dye bath. If the material is folded beforehand according to a certain system, decorative patterns can easily be created. Wax can also be used for reserving by rubbing differently raised surfaces, colouring the carrier material and then ironing out the wax. This can be used to create colourful scarves, shawls, T-shirts, fabric bags or wrapping paper.
