Ready for 100% Mühlviertel?

The multi-day tour in the Mühlviertler Alm Freistadt region covers 188 kilometers and 5,410 meters of elevation gain; it is well-marked and suitable for both recreational mountain bikers and e-mountain bikers.

The trail winds through picturesque forests, across lush alpine meadows, and past impressive granite formations. If you’d like to visit cultural and natural attractions along the way—such as the Ruttenstein and Prandegg castle ruins and the Tanner Moor nature reserve—you can do so right from the trail. Two other highlights are the lookout point and the swimming lake in Rechberg.
The restaurants along the route invite you to stop for a bite to eat.

Our Hinterdorfer vacation rental is centrally located. This means you can set out on a new stage of the hike every day from Unterweißenbach.

itinerary

Our suggested itinerary for you:

Day 1: Start in Mötlas at the Hinterdorfer vacation rental—follow the M4 mountain bike trail to the Hirschalm Hunting Fairy Tale Park—ride to Königswiesen, St. Georgen am Walde, and back via Mönchdorf and the M4 to Mötlas (approx. 75 km, ↑ 1,940 meters of elevation gain)
Day 2: Start in Mötlas at the Hinterdorfer vacation rental—ride along the M4 to Niederhofstetten, continue on to Pierbach, Rechberg, Bad Zell, and the Prandegg ruins, then back via the M9 (approx. 60 km, ↑ 1,500 meters of elevation gain)
Day 3: Start in Mötlas at the Hinterdorfer vacation rental – continue on to Straß via the M9 – ride to Kaltenberg, Liebenau, and back via Unterweißenbach (Hirschalm) (approx. 68 km, ↑ 1,400 meters of elevation gain)
