The treasure in the Almtal
Grünau im Almtal, Oberösterreich, Österreich
FOREST, WATER, MEADOW, WILD, WONDERS
The biological diversity in the protected natural areas of the Almtal is a valuable treasure that needs to be guarded. In this NATURAL SHOW we get an insight into the sustainable use and conservation of meadows, forests and lakes at a total of four locations. Around the Almsee, on the banks of the Ödseen and in the Almauen, we naturalists discover precious ecosystems and the secrets of water.
Nature mediators: Fritz Wolf, Christoph Wolf, Daniela Wolf, Wolfgang Rab
After a warm welcome and introduction, the forester and the forest educator lead us to his favorite places in the nature reserves in the Almtal. And there are many of them, because he knows his area like the back of his hand and chooses the right places depending on the group and the weather.
Different weather conditions can mean a special experience of nature for the group. Typical bad weather situations, for example, at the Almsee provide intense natural spectacles (weather stimuli).
A short excursion into the history of the landscape and the founding of the Kremsmünster monastery in 777 leads us to the term sustainability.
Depending on the group composition and the weather, we use elements of forest education to find access to animate and inanimate nature: barefoot, blindfolded, through role-playing, songs or creating works of art, we approach nature issues in a sensual way.
Almtal legends are told in special places that illustrate the population's extraordinary closeness to nature. In particular, the true and almost forgotten story of the Almsee frogs opens up new insights into the topic of sustainability.
If the date of this event falls on a Wednesday evening, we can experience the Weisenblasen (summer vacation) at the Almsee particularly intensely in the group at 7.30 p.m. And there is also time to ask the forester and the forest educator critical questions about forestry, hunting and nature conservation in this recreational area and huge biotope!
This event is supported by the EU and the state of Upper Austria with rural development funds.
