Day 1 - Individual arrival in Passau
Arrival in Passau for your cycling vacation on the Danube. Check into your room and hand over your cycle tour documents at the hotel. You are sure to be impressed by the beautiful old town of the famous three-river city of Passau. The rental bikes are handed over at our bike rental point in Passau. Day 2 - From Passau to the Schlögener Schlinge, approx. 40 km
You cycle down the Danube and soon reach the German-Austrian border. Don't miss a visit to Engelszell Abbey, where monastery liqueurs have been produced according to traditional recipes for centuries. Hotel example: Gasthof Draxler in Niederranna

Day 3 - From the Schlögener Schlinge to Linz, approx. 55 km
Today you cycle through the impressive natural landscape of the Schlögener Schlinge. You have the best view of the river meander from the Schlögener Blick (short ascent of approx. 40 min.). Then continue your journey to Linz. Take the time to relax in one of the numerous coffee houses with Linzer Torte. You can get to know the European Capital of Culture 2009 better on a stroll through the city. Hotel example: Hotel Prielmayerhof in Linz

Day 4 - From Linz to Grein/surroundings, approx. 60 km
Your route takes you through the varied floodplain landscape of the Machland. Visit Enns, the oldest town in Austria, before you reach Grein. Hotel example: Gasthof zur Zugbrücke in Bad Kreuzen

Day 5 - From Grein/surroundings to Marbach, approx. 30 km
Shortly after the charming town of Grein, the Strudengau begins. This is the section of the Danube that used to be feared by boatmen due to its cliffs and whirlpools. Hotel example: Landgasthof Zur Schönen Wienerin in Marbach

Day 6 - From Marbach to Vienna, approx. 50 km by bike, train journey from Krems to Vienna
The cycle tour through the Wachau is certainly one of the highlights of your trip. This region is widely known for its sparkling white wines. Numerous wineries and wine taverns along the route invite you to enjoy a tasting. Take the train from Krems to Vienna. Vienna, the metropolis on the Danube and the city of waltzes, is already very close. Follow in Sisi's footsteps at Schönbrunn Palace, visit Belvedere Palace or treat yourself to a ride in a horse-drawn carriage to Vienna's most important sights. Day 7 - Return journey to Passau or additional nights
Individual journey home from your cycling vacation in Austria. Optional: return journey by train or bus (season C) to Passau.
