The picturesque Christkindl district celebrates its 1000th anniversary The city of Steyr has the resounding name Christkindlstadt. Around the Christmas region has developed around Steyr in recent years.

The center of the world-famous pilgrimage site “Christkindl” is the baroque pilgrimage church. The church was built at the beginning of the 18th century by Giovanni B. Carlone and Jakob Prandtauer and inaugurated in 1725 by the Passau bishop Josef Dominik Graf von Lamberg. The focus is on the ten centimeter tall wax baby Jesus in a small shrine.
