The herb walk takes us along the promenade next to the Gaflenz stream to the "back side" of the Güldener Märkt'l Weyer, which receives little attention from tourists.

We pay particular attention to those plants that otherwise tend to go unnoticed or even become a nuisance: the weeds. Stinging nettle, ground elder and chickweed are full of healing substances and taste good too. Once we have learned to appreciate these wild herbs and their value, we may even be able to welcome them into our gardens. So that we can test the taste of the "un-herbs" not only fresh from the meadow, the Gasthaus Steineck prepares a menu with wild herb garnish on request.
