Printing workshop for school classes

Pettenbach, Oberösterreich, Österreich

An onion fish in the case

In a real typesetting box there must always be absolute order, otherwise there will be a printing error. A misplaced letter is called an onion fish.

In the printing workshop, the students learn the basics of letterpress printing and encounter the jobs of typesetter and printer, which no longer exist today. Using the exhibits on display, you will learn about the further development from manual to machine typesetting and from the manual printing press to the printing machine.

In the writing room, the work is done by hand and printed with beautiful wooden letters. Please wear old clothes or bring painting aprons.
